hi sian you can count me in!!i am following weightwatchers too it seems to work for me i have joined online though cos i cant make the meetings every week due to my shift patterns.

I'm following the South Beach Diet. In a month I've lost around 10kgs, so I'm really pleased with myself!

well i will be joining you but haven't been doing well.

Until friday that is when i had a curry and have only just stopped throwing up on sunday! And they say indian is bad for diets, i've lost 6 lb!

Personally, I don't think that curries are all that bad. If they're microwave style or from a take away then they have a lot of unneccesary junk but if it's a homemade one, with fresh ingredients and you go easy on the rice, or switching it to a brown one, then it's a totally different ball game.

I think you'd also have to exercise caution with bhajis and other side dishes, because of the high flour content. Again, homemade ones would be a better choice. Traditionally, they're often made with gram (chickpea) flour but in the West, there's probably a lot of white flour added, which causes blood sugar spikes.

Also, how many of us associate curry with beer? There's a lot of calories and sugar in beer!

Chilli, according to Eastern medicine is meant to boost the metabolism and if nothing else, it increases the spice content, so you have to eat slower or plain can't eat as much because your mouth is on fire!

It's the Westernization and mass processing of curry dishes, I think that causes the problem rather than the actual dish.

hi, i started watching last wednesday and im feeling much better, im looking forward to my meals and ive been thinking before eating and planning things out more. ive not lost any weight but im not expecting to as im half way through a course of fertilty treatment but as long as im eating healthy and not overeating them im happy for the time being,id pleased if i got through this cycle without anymore weightgain, im not really in a position to go to the gym for a few weeks tho as my ovaries are tender and im having iui either this week or next lol.My diet is lowish carb/low gi so i will see how that goes
belle, could u give me ur recipie for the curry please, i was thinking i could make it for the weekend treat and have brown rice with it lol
