Default weightloss on a plate...dietician appointment update

had my dietician appointment on monday just passed. she looked at a rather unhealthy week of me and said it was not too bad and i wouldnt need to change much. she gave me the weightloss on a plate plan to do. it concentrates on low gi, but gives you specific portions of each food group to have each day. she was a bit disorganised on monday so posted the plan out to me.

i have started it this morning, i have a milk alouance, so eg 1 portion of dairy is 200 mls of milk and say 1 oz of cheese or a small yoghurt. i am aloud 2 portions of dairy in a day....so i have been having a bit much in tea etc.

cereals breads and potatoes i am aloud 8 portions in a day.....1 portion would equal 1 wheetabix or 1 slice of bread, a couple of small potatoes or a medium baked potato , 3 tablespoon pasta ( cooked) you get the idea.....so i have been eating too much of the pasta too

i am aloud 8 portions of fruit/veg in a day 1 peaice of fresh fruit is a portion or 3 tablespoons of cooked veg

meat and protein eg lentils nuts fish etc i am aloud 2 portions a day, i cant remember exactly how much that is in weight...just getting to grips with it.

i am aloud 1oz of low fat spread in a day or 1/2 oz of butter.

i so hope this works for the first while there will be quite alot of measuring but once i can judge the correct portion sizes it will be ok.

once i loose a some weight then it will be re adjusted to keep up the steady weight loss.

i do have a snack alouance but this is to be restricted to at most every 2 days but if pos just for weekends.

my next day off will be next wed as we have a x mas night out for dh work, then i will be good till x mas day.

i get seen again in january.

That sounds really balanced, realistic and good. Should work for you! Looks like I've overdone the dairy and pasta too! I know Eva did a lot of low GI when she lost her weight - and so did I. It's recommended in the PCOS Diet Book.

sounds great! Complicated at first, but like you said, you'll soon settle into how much food is a portion. Yes, i did low gi before, and it was great.
