I was just discussing my m/c with a friend who also recently had a m/c. I realized that I had had two very vivid dreams a couple of days before the u/s that showed no heartbeat. They both were about giving birth too early in weird circumstances.

In the first, I gave birth in the stairwell of the parking garage of the hospital. I wasn't farther along in the dream than I was in real life, and I was mad at myself for thinking I had lots of time to plan. I was also really mad that I didn't get around to having a baby shower after attending so many! LOL. Anyway, afterwards, the nurse handed me the swaddled baby and I realized that I still didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. I unwrapped the baby and found it was a girl, then couldn't rewrap her back in blanket correctly. I remember looking at her in the the yellow flickering of fluorescent lights and realizing that this was very bad.

The second I was at an old hospital and my brother's girlfriend was in active labor. I wasn't yet, but I had a huge round belly and was wearing a hospital gown. I had to go the bathroom, so I wandered around until I found one. When I went in, it was disgustingly filthy. There was dirt and gunk everywhere and no toilet stalls - just toilets attached to the wall in a row. All of the toilets were stopped up and full. And I was barefoot and trying to figure out how to squat with no sense of balance because of the giant pregnant belly. I woke up with a distinct sense of unease.

I wonder if that was my body's way of telling me that my baby was no more - that our subconscious knows way before our bodies catch up.

That got me thinking... did you or did you not have dreams before m/c confirmation? I'm wondering if it's really common. Or if you've had a successful pregnancy, did you also have disturbing dreams throughout your pregnancy?

Crazy dreams during pregnancy are totally normal, but I will never forget the one I had before we found out that I lost Bleep.

In my dream, I was holding two babies, a boy and a girl (Bleep and Blip). Literally out of the sky came this little baby angel who took the boy away from me and back up to heaven.

That was the night before we found out that Bleep had died.

That's the only dream I ever had like that, though. Nothing with the other two, at least not that I remember.
