I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, because I've been told that it's weird. If my stomach starts to growl, I have to eat right away. If I don't, I can't eat for a few hours. If I do eat after my stomach has stopped growling, I have severe stomach pains about half way through the meal. I'm used to it happening, so I never thought anything about it and neither has DF. But my future sil said that it was weird when I told her about it over the weekend. So, anyone else? It's not a big deal, just curious.

Poor Happy!
It sounds like you build up a lot of acid. Do you carry a granola bar around for those growls?
Sorry for your tummy,
Sheri

Back when I was a teen, I took meds for a period of time for ulcers. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? You've got me thinking now Sheri.

I can't imagine you're under any ###STRESS!!### or anything like that. LOL
Aren't ulcers and other tummy issues still linked to stress often? Or meds that you might be on?
Good luck figuring out an answer...
Sheri
That happens to me too! It feels like really bad gas and I don't get it unless I am *super* hungry but can't eat for awhile. Then, when I do eat--especially greasy food--my stomach kills!! I don't think it's related to stress. I just chalk it up to IR (which I apparantly don't have! LOL).

Hey, I'm not the only one!! I figured I'm a goof anyway, so it's not a big surprise that I would have something wierd going on. But you have it too Statlady. I wonder what causes all of this crazy stuff. Doctors are quick to say "you don't have," this that or the other, but they never want to tell you what you do have.

IMO I think it could be related to IR and the growling feeling is what I get and is a hypo (low blood sugar/Hypoglycaemia) which for me is like this:
I begin to feel a twinge of hunger, then I may feel nauseated, like I may vomit. Sometimes this goes away for a few minutes but comes back much worse and if I don't eat something quick I feel faint, tearful, shaky, confused, impatient, moody and angry until I do eat. It can be really distressing as you know food is the only cure.
Since low-carbing I have mostly eliminated my hypos and I have discovered that eating something of protein, the very moment I get a twinge really helps stop it in its tracks. If I leave it until it's bad, I also get that awful burning sensation after eating (which incidentally is worse if I eat something high carb instead of protein) which is not nice.
If I respond to a hypo with eating sweet/sugary high-carb foods I can guarantee another hypo will follow. This is due to my body pumping out excess insulin in response to high carb foods, which causes a hypo, which tells me I need to eat again, which starts the cycle off all over again. Low-carbing has been the only answer for me and has honestly changed my life for the better.
