Hey Kiki-

I know what you're talking about - it happens to me too - usually seems to be when I'm laying on the couch in a certain position. I think it's just heart palpitations. I think it has to do with the changes in blood volume and hormonal changes.

I guess you could mention it at your next appointment, but I don't think its necessary to put a call in right now, unless it starts happening a lot more frequently or your start feeling dizzy or short of breath.

Good luck!

It sounds like heart palpitations. I use to have really bad anxiety issues and get them frequently. Now I get them just everyone once and awhile. If you get them occasionally it's usually benign. If you're concerned definetly mention something to your OB.

Sounds like heart palps to me too. Check with your OB because they can be caused by your thyroid being out of whack...have your TSH checked. Whenever my TSH isnt right I get the exact feeling you are describing.

yes it sounds like a palpatation and if you want to be specific it souneds like a PVC (premature ventricular contraction) I get them a lot my heart will flutter really fast, then pressure then a big skip and it'll stop. Sometimes though I'll get them 4 or 5 times in a row and get dizzy and lightheaded from them.. There are different kinds of palpatations that feel different ways and that sounds like a PVC.. they're one of the most common heart arrythmias around and honestly nothing much to worry about unless you're getting long runs of them then see a cardiologist. Otherwise just chaulk it up to something probably associated with the pregnancy. I've been getting them for weeks now too

I got them all the time with my other pg's, only a few times this pg. I had to wear a heart monitor for a week just to make sure everything was ok and it was, they said it was caused by the increase in blood volume.

Before I was pregnant my heart woudl skip a beat and than it would start to beat really really fast the last time it happened I counted 300 beats for the minute. My Dr.'s nurse told me if it went over 140 beats per minute that I needed to go to the ER. A couple of weeks ago my heart would skip a beat than beat normal a couple of times and than skip a beat again, and it would increase when I would lay on my left side. My Dr.'s nurse was thinking it was because my pregnancy had made my condition from before worse and set me up an appoinment for the 12th of sept with a cardiologist when I go down for my first ultrasound. But now it has stopped and has not happened for about a week or so. But I hope that all is well with you!!
