Hi all,
I'm usually over on the TTC thread, but I have a question about NPC and hoped that someone here might have an answer for me.
Last night, I tried my NPC for the first time - whew! Maybe I am super-sensitive to it but, within 2 hours I was bleeding and cramping, sweating and hot, and feeling a bit out of it and weird.
I'm assuming that this isn't normal. I'm on cycle day 28 and was planning to just use it for a day or two before AF, hoping that it might help me get a stronger O next cycle. But after those effects last night, I think I'm kind of scared of it now.
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
The first time I tried NPC, I also had crazy side effects. I felt spacey, panicky, sweaty and really out of it. I didn't have any bleeding/cramping though.
The panic was enough that I swore it off for a few weeks, but then I reconsidered and just applied a much smaller dose than was recommended on the package. I literally only dipped the tip of my finger in the jar and rubbed that tiny amount on. I was fine, and I've slowly built up from there. I still do not do 1/4 tsp twice a day. It is less than that.
I think I read somewhere that if your body is normally low on Progesterone and all of a sudden you bombard the receptors with lots of progesterone, you can have the side effects we had.
Good luck.
Amanda

Thank you so much for responding!
I had the panicky and anxious feeling too. I'm SO glad I'm not the only one. Maybe I'll try cutting way back on the dose.
Thanks again,

Yeah, use a little less (like, just before bed instead of twice a day). This is what is known as a healing reaction. Your body overreacted when it FINALLY got what it's been needing. It should only last a couple (2-4) days, then you should feel pretty good. Then go back to the regular dose.
This is a common reaction with anything natural. It is not a side effect and does not mean anything is wrong.
