Default Weird periods

Hi everyone -

I am pretty certain I have PCOS. Problem is convincing my Doctor to give me some blood tests or to refer me. But it takes 6 months for a referral. So annoying. *sigh*

Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. For the last 2 months I have had too many periods. I've had 5 periods in 6 weeks all lasting 5 days. Then 3 weeks ago I;ve had another 2 periods lasting 2 days and then 5 days.

I don't know what is going on but my Dr wants me to come back in 3 months then I'll get something done. Probably BCP knowing my luck.....

Anyway.......anyone else had this? What caused yours?

Welcome to Soulcysters, and if you continue to have prolonged periods like what you are saying, I would definitely press the doctor for more medical work to be done. I don't really have any other advice, but I wish you the best and hope you get everything taken care of.

Hi Aqua,
I've had periods like you describe. I'd go for months without one and then bleed constantly for weeks, or stop only to start up again the next day. What helped me the most was metformin. I hope you can get in to see the doc before 3 months hun! :Hugs: If this doc isn't helping maybe you could see another one?

Let us know how you are doing OK? Hang in there,

Hugs
Jenny

I have had the same problem as well. I am hoping to get on met as soon as I can get insurance. Until then, I have been taking herbs to help try to regulate me. I think I am starting to see a difference. But if you aren't getting anywhere with your current doctor, maybe you would have better luck with a different one? Just a thought. I hope things work out for you.
