Question Weird Question

I have endometriosis and it's pretty severe I guess, The pain level and what not. Anyway, On tuesday I had an extreme "episode" of pain. I could not move from my bed, i didnt want to do anything, I had a high fever, I could not stop crying, and none of my pain realivers even took the edge of it. My darling BF tried to console me but nothing seemed to help, because sometimes if he rubs my back it can calm me down but that didnt even take my mind of it. It was completly unbareable, all day. I didnt go to the ER because there is nothing they can really do. And finally I was able to fall asleep at 3am with a final attempt at some pain medicine. My question is this, Now for the past 3 days I have not been feeling right...My pain is more of a tingling in my hips and a constant pain that hurts worst whenever I move a certain way. My stomach is cramping very badly and I am just tired all the time and moody, probably from pain. Could this episode of pain messed something up with my body? Because I am not feeling like myself, and the pain is concerning to me. Any input is greatly appreciated ladies. Thank and bless you all!

I don't know that it could mess anything up (permanently anyway), but it can definitely be that you have a lot of inflammation right now, which makes you very uncomfortable. And, anytime you are in pain and stress, you won't feel well.

Has your doctor discussed laparoscopy with lasering of the endometriosis? I had it done and it took away about 90% of the pain.

It was discussed, but he does not want to do it, because he feels it will be too invasive where I am only 18 and then I'd have to come back frequently to get it retreated. He mentioned the Lupron Shot but I am scared to death of that because all I have read is horror stories for the most part, but it's looking like it's my only option.

Thank you so much for your advice and congratulations on your baby boy!

Surely you should argue that it would be better to remove what is causing you the pain so that it will give you some relief for a while, and some may not even grow back. I was in your situation at your age. I am now 23 and have had my first lap and wish that a doc had offered it to me earlier. Also for me, a large amount of the pain has gone now. I know it isn't necessarily permanent, but it's an operation that you heal quickly from and it really does you good!

It sounds like the pain since your episode is due to the inflammation, as Stacie M said.

If I were you, I would really push for a lap and get it out and lasered, which should stall or stop some regrowth and make you feel much better. I would say that going on Lupron when you're so young is FAR MORE drastic than keyhole surgery that takes an hour or so and in a couple of weeks after could allow you to feel loads better!

Think about it xx

I would agree with you 100& percent about surgery vs lupron! I just feel like every doctor is treating me like "hey you're young so listen to us, and we'll tell you what to do and how to feel about it lol" Thanks Ashley and Stacie. I'm glad the pain just seems to be some inflammation, just seemed weird to me. And I think ill try and push for the surgery!!!

You're welcome! Honestly, don't let them do this to you. I was suffering with a combo of PCOS and Endo since I was around 15 I think. Finally got dx with PCOS at 20, then with Endo this year at the age of 23! For years, particularly when I was younger, I was told that I don't know the best options, and they put me on all sorts of unhelpful treatments, which made me feel worse, just to avoid a small surgical procedure that could have helped me AND them understand what was going on. The truth is (my best friend is a pharmacist), doctors get bribed by pharmaceutical companies, so push prescriptions on patients. Ok, so it may not happen with every doc, but I have noticed a pattern for a while!

PLEASE push for surgery, then look at better treatment options that aren't so drastic!

Good luck xx
