Weird reaction to met

I have tried met several times now and always end up having to go off of it after about 2 months.

The last 2 or 3 times I tried to take it, I went up to 1500. I did ok for about 2 months and then I would develop this terrible pain in my liver area that shot up into my shoulder. I thought the first time that it was my upper intestines, so I stayed on it until it got so bad I couldn't function.

I went off of it for a few weeks and then tried it again. I was at 1500 for about 2 onths again and the same thing happened.

I went off of met again for a few weeks and then decided to try just going to 1000. I was on 1000 for about 2 months and then that awful pain came back again.

The odd thing is that although I have intestinal problems in the beginning with met, the pain doesn't start until I have been on met for several weeks.

Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be?

Have you discussed this with your doctor? It sounds like bloodwork and further diagnostics might be in order.
