I have these weird looking things, mainly on my arms. I noticed one popped up about 6 months ago, it almost looks like a red freckle with a faded red circle around it. I went to the doctor for my physical and asked her about it, she briefly looked at it and said it was a type of spider vein, and that unfortunately, with PCOS, they're more common. I have tried to research this, and I can't seem to find anything. I have recently been loosing weight and I have noticed a few popping up on my arms and on my chest. While a couple don't look that bad, I'm worried that I will keep getting more. When I get cold, I get a big white ring around them. I plan on going to the dermatologist in the next few months for my annual visit, but if need be, I'll go sooner. So, my question is, does anyone else have these "spider veins" (if that's what they actually are), and does anyone know how to prevent them or get rid of them if possible?

I finally found some info on what this is. It looks like it's a spider angioma. They are a different form of spider veins that usually appear near the face and upper body, and of course...they can be causd by altered hormone levels, (suprise suprise, another problem related to PCOS). Just like regular spider veins, they don't really pose any type of threat, except cosmetically. I just thought I'd post my findings in case anyone else has this

I have cherry angiomas on my arms, under my arms and on my breasts. They are little red dots that kind of look like red freckles or permanent blood blisters. I had two burned off under my arm because my bra was rubbing them raw. I think I have a spider angiomas on my nose, probably related to my rosacea. I also have broken capillaries in my cheeks. You can have them lasered off, but insurance won't pay for it. My derm gave me the name of a Dermatology Center across town that does that kind of thing, but I haven't pursued it yet.

I have a couple of those on my face and MANY spider veins elsewhere on my body but mostly on my legs. I have heard about laser treatment for spider veins but I haven't researched it myself. I just use foundation on the ones on my face and that makes them blend in better.
