Hi, welcome to SC! My first blood tests were all OK, but I was lucky enough to have a dr. who diagnosed me based on symptoms and gave me met to help with those symptoms. He has since diagnosed me with diabetes too, but I was already taking met for the PCOS and I think my diabetes could have been really out of control had I not been on the meds and working on diet/exercise. I think it depends on the dr. whether or not the GTT has to be abnormal before you can start met. Mine doesn't think so. It does sound like met could help you. If you do start met, I found that I had less side effects than some cysters by gradually bumping up the dose and by always taking the met right in the middle of your meal. Hope this helps! Let us know what you find out!
Jenny
