Default well the met dreams are over

After all those questions, and time being on met (well not that long ) I've decided I need to come off of it. I haven't been able to get out of bed since starting it on the 4th of this month. Its not even stomach issues, its massive dizziness, fatigue, and just feelings of being sick. Essentially I can't get out of bed. So with this beings said what do you guys think are a better option for me?

It took me aloooong time to adjust to 1,000 mg of Met. It was very hard and I also spent a lot of time in bed, but it will be worth it if you stick it out.

I see a lot of girls on here are sick from the met, I didn't realize to the extent that I was. I thought most of them were GI problems. Thanks! Now pehaps I have to reconsider! Wow who would have thought this babystuff would be so complicated!

Are you taking the extended release version? I am taking 1,000 mg twice a day of the XR and doing okay on it. But when I tried taking the same dosage of regular met it was awful. I've read on here that many cysters have had the same experience, so if you aren't on the extended release version you might want to try that.

I'm not on the extended release, however I'm going to call my doctor today and request it. This is aweful for sure. All I have to say is thank god I don't work or I would have been out of a job a week ago!

did you start on a low dose and then slowly up it?
are you taking it with meals or 1/2 hr after a meal?
how long have you been taking it? Usually GI upset subsides after the 1st month...

I am having the same symptoms. Usually late at night I wake up with heart palpitations, dizziness, and just feeling hypoglycemic. I have only been on it since May 22 and I am now up to 1500mg, but I still don't feel like myself.... I just hope it works and I will get AF...

Best of luck, with whatever you choose to do.

I'm sorry you feel so bad but I'm glad it's not just me. I spoke to my doctor who put me on the extended release this week after one week of misery. I'm praying to feel better. I have missed work with the same symptoms...no GI problems at all. I think I'd rather that!! I've been dizzy, lightheaded, EXHAUSTED, moody, and just plain terrible-feeling. I feel like I could sleep forever. I'm giving up as well if this doesn't get better fast. I can't function like this. Let me know how you're doing and if you stay on. I wish you the best!

wow I didn't realize many of you felt the same way!... I called my doctor and I'm stopping MET. I'm going to take the provera and start clomid. Hopefully that will do the trick for me. I just really can't function on the MET and I already have heart problems and problems with chronic dizziness and the met is just making it all unberable! Good luck , let me know how it goes for you. As much as I want a baby, and met is wonderful for some I can't tolerate it at all and if I can't be healthy and happy then I fear I will have a sour look on pregnancy.. if that makes sense

That makes total sense to me. I will be throwing the towel in on Met if it doesn't get better as well. I know what you mean - this has been UNBEARABLE. However, switching to the Glumetza seemed to help the dizzy/headache/exhaustion a LOT. BUT, I'm not getting the GI issues, hahah. I will take that anyday over that dizziness. I will pray for you guys! Let me know how it goes

I have had GI problems, particulary when eating unhealthy foods. BUT, when applied with exercise, I have been able to drop weight faster than I ever have.

Well, I'm now unsure what I'm doing. I called doc today to tell her I can't take the Met anymore. The ER version seemed better then the GI stuff started and I kept getting fainting spells where I truly felt like I was going out. I don't think I can keep it up. There are still other options I'm sure and losing weight is not a problem for me when I truly work at it. I have to just get my head straight and do it. I cant function anymore on the Met. Of course, I'm having doubts and praying to GOD that I'm not making a mistake.

NJGirl,

I don't know if someone already asked, but how high is your dosage? You may be taking too high of a dosage and possibly need to adjust to something that your body needs.

I was only on 500 mg. I think the drug is not for me. I stopped taking it and already feel like a human being again. I spoke to my doctor about it and there are still options for us and it was just too unbearable. Thanks for asking!
