At my appt today I had to mention the panic attacks. They checked me again since I still feel dizzy since my sinus infections and couldnt figure out if that was due to an infection or my anxiety. I told her exactly how I felt when I was having a panic attack (hot, heart beating really fast, sweaty, throat feeling like its close, feeling like I cant breathe and am going to die and dizzy) and she said that sounds pretty serious. When I told her I dont want to do everyday things bc of it she suggested I try medicine. She gave me Lexapro and the dose to start with is 10mg 1x a day. She knows I am TTC and said I can stay on it. I will pick up the script tomorrow but am nervous. What should I expect? When do I take it? Thanks!

I hope it helps. I have to get it filled today bc yesterday we had awful 50 mph winds. Should I take it in the am afternoon or night? Is that a really low dose? When does it normally get upped?

Just be aware that you may get some side-effects when you first start it while your body gets used to the new chemical.
For me, I had almost constant nausea (I'd be fine and then whomp! I'd go all green!), no short term memory and poor concentration for about two or three months when I first started it. It wasn't unbearable, but it was annoying, though it has all but gone now.
It also interrupted my sleep terribly, but that's because I was taking it at night. The doc suggested I take it in the morning and that fixed that problem.
It's certainly helped my depression and anxiety - I feel like myself again!
It sounds like you are on the right track! I started taking that this fall and I did have some problems with nausea and fatigue. I had to take mine at night so I could function during the day. I had to go off of it due to problems with increased panic attacks, but I was also having probs with a high thyroid at that time so who knows if the Lexapro was to blame. After the first couple weeks the side effects did wear off by the way, so if you have some, stick with it and they will disappear.

I had to stop Lexapro after some major, but rare, side effects. I began developing severe, deep bruising where no trauma had occurred, but worse than that, within the first two weeks of taking it, my right hand developed tremors and that rapidly progressed to full-body shakes. It was very scary, but again, very RARE. My ex-husband takes Lexapro for depression and it has been a life-saver for him.
Hope that your experience is positive -- I had a lot of luck with Zoloft, so I know the relief of being panic attack free.

Goodness I hope I dont have too many side effects. The pharm. said to cut it in half and take 5mg a day for a few days before the 10mg. What dose is everyone one? How soon should I see if its working or not?

I'm on 5mg per day (half a tablet) and it's working very well. I still get angsty, down times but they're nowhere near as severe or long lasting as I was getting before.
My symptoms were strong but not unbearable, and have all but gone now (I had them for a couple of months maybe). Just take note of any weirdnesses and talk to your doc about them, more often than not they're just your body getting used to the new chemical. But if you're concerned about anything or it get's to unbearable level, tell your doc and they can look at another medication for you.
It took at least a month before I really noticed any difference in things, but that's because it's pretty gradual in taking effect. My doc tells me it takes at least 6 months to a year for it to be at it's most effective, so do give it time if the side-effects aren't too much of a bother to you.
Took a 1/2 of one today so it was 5mg. Felt tired and kinda drugged for the most part but not as much anxiety for sure! Does that drugged feeling ever go away? My stomach hurts but I am thinking that may be from restarting the Met and not the Lexapro.
Is there anything I cant take with the Lexapro as far as tums? ty? etc?

I don't know about meds you can't take with Lexapro - best to talk to your doc or pharmacist about that one.
I felt kind of drugged at the beginning of mine, but that went with all the other symptoms. I certainly don't get that feeling nowadays. Do realise that the first say, month at least, is going to be weird for you while your body gets used to it.
