I have seen like 4 DR. and im not able to find a DR that can really help me mand give me info about this PCOS. I had a DR that had me on Metformin for a whole year i never got pregnant and all it did was make me sick. i was throwing up everyday and i felt horriable i told the DR and she insisted that i continue to take it. She was on some false hope im not takeing it any more and i would liek to know if there is anything else that i can suggest to my new Dr for me to take?
Hi babieblu1984, have you been to a Reproductive Specialist? Most often they have more knowledge than a regular OB-Gyn. Before I moved to the country, I was seen at one of the leading Reproductive Clinics in Va and the doctors amazed me, they tested me for things I have never been tested for, and answered questions that my Gyn couldnt answer.
You do have to do your research and look for their success rate.
I'm not sure where you're located, but have you tried looking for Alternative Medicine centers/practitioners or looking into natural methods for PCOS?
I got really sick on Metformin as well and have not yet tried anything else, but it looks like some other people have had some good success with dietary changes, supplements, etc. There are also a lot of good suggestions in the Newbie Road Map section - www (dot) soulcysters (dot) net/newbie-road-map-196682/ - Even have a really good section on questions to ask your doctor that can also be used (in my opinion) if you switch doctors and want to get to know the new one.

I am new with PCOS and I just went to an Endocronologist that specialized in PCOS and he was wonderful and explained everything to me. Also he is having me start on South Beach Diet and has put me on 2 meds (one of them being metformin) but I am starting that slow because I had quit taking it before when I was seeing my OB/GYN. I am a little different then most people on here because I have had a partial hysterectomy so I am not trying to get pregenant. I wasnt too happy with my obgyn, it didnt seem like she knew a lot about this.
Hi babie I am on the same boat as you are ...I took metformin for 3 months no use....people say yiu loose weight but i did not...consulted a reproductive andoconologist...he recemmended clomid but not now...after 6 months of natural trial....I excercise a lot and have hoined weight watchers...But the correoct Dr for thsi is a reproductive endocronologist...
Good Luck...I feel the same and get depressed but we need to be positive.
Hi guys. Today is my first day...I got diagnosed with PCOS last week,,, I didnt know what the heck it was, i was freaking out. My doc gave me 3 prescriptions.. one Metformin, second Yaz birthcontrol, and third Spironactone or something...I think my Metformin is 850Mg..she said she wanted to do an ultrasound 2 weeks after i started these pills...She did a blood test on me and my levels came back all jacked up which is how she diagnosed me with pcos...I guess im confused,,what if i go for my ultrasound, and they dont find any cysts? does that mean i dont have pcos?
And with the Metformin..is it suppsed to help you lose weight? and what are the side affects? Im on day 2...! thanks u guys

DR says that i need to go through surgery in which they will rupture the cysts n evry thing will b all fine. Is it so???? Wil it cure my all problems???
Though i have been diagnosed for PCOS, i do not have irr-regular periods, but has clotted blood all the time through out periods and not normal bleeding....
