I just came back from visiting my GYN for suspected endometriosis symptoms.
I asked about the original reference letter from my paediatric endocrinologist, and it points out that I had blood work consistent of "borderline congenital hyperplasia" (Adult onset).
I remember being tested for this, but I don't recall ever being given an 'official' diagnosis. I was young, and relied on my mother to retain that info. I remember trying a number of medications, but I was just 'going with the flow.' Do you think the doctor told my mother, and she didn't understand the diagnosis? (I know I need to ask her about this).
I'm more confused then ever now. I wonder if I even have PCOS? When I had to have surgery on my uterus to repair a septum, I remember my GYN saying she confirmed a diagnosis of pcos going by the enlargement of my ovaries (I think she even took pictures). But I've never had cysts. Doesn't this mean that I have PCOS?
Could it be that I have both?

If you've been with the Same GYN why dont you ask them if they can go back into your files and see if you were ever given an official diagnoses. You have a right to those records and any sort of diagnosis would certainly have been recorded.

Salaam Gracedmind, this is the same GYN that did my surgery. However when I originally became her patient, it was for infertility, and I believe this was the main focus around my treatment/relationship with her...
I see my Endocrinologist later this month, and I'm going to bring this up and see if I've been missing out on possible treatment, etc. But I'm also going to talk to my GYN again after my u/s to ask more questions about my PCOS diagnosis.
