Default what about caffeine?

Hi what do you about caffeine; ie. drinking coffee?

Anything with stimulants aren't good. At least that is what my endo said. Can't remember why except that it has to do with your thyroids metabolism functions and not wanting to mess with it using stimulants like caffeine. I have no idea if I am helping here or not. lol

Anyone want to comment on if you can limit caffeine only? I mean what do you do when fatigue and feeling cold are your main symptoms? Can it affect your blood pressure?

My dr said that I should limit my caffeine to 1-2 cups of coffee or cans of cola a day. She said that they can interfere with the ways your thyroid meds work. She recommended drinking herbal teas or decaffeinated coffee. Does this help you any?

Yes I've eliminated my afternoon coffee and drink decaf then. But in the am I need caffeine!

I saw the doc today, she said the same thing 1-2x, so I drink decaf in the afternoon now.
