Default What is Actos?

I have been off the boards for several months and just recently came back. I have seen several mentions of a drug called Actos but haven't been able to find out what it is and what it is used for? Is it just to start ovulation or can it be used for those not trying to get pregnant also? Is it comparable to Glucophage? Can you take them together? If anyone knows the answers or can tell me where to find them that would be awesome!

Thanks!
Leslie

Actos is similar to Glucaphage and metformin...it is an insulin reducing medication you get from a reproductive endrocronologist.

It's the same "type" of medication like metformin/glucophage.
It's to help with the insulin levels (hormone)....

It will cause some women that don't ovulate to ovulate again-
but, you're not suppose to take it when pg- SO Go Figure!

I started it back in October- 11th to be exact- on the 29th I received af- never had gotten with metformin- the problem for me- was that i was getting af every 19 days! so going from none to- that was weird- unfortantley too- i haven't had one since December 24th- yes, I've tested BFN's everytime- so I'm thinking -I never ovulated on it- just bleed- and now- why does it decide to stop????? WHY WHY WHY??? I hate this!!!!!

it's one little tiny pill a day- compared to the gross nasty metformin/gluc. pills- I was taking-

all from me-
