I'm interested in finding out all the potential negative effects of BCPs on cysters. I've heard references to this from various cysters, and I'd like to know more. I have very irregular periods, and I've been asked to consider the option of medication. But I'm concerned because I've heard that BCPs are not really reccomended with PCOS.

Thanks for the response, TickledPink. I am not so worried about the situation anymore now, since I got my not-so-monthly flow today. I am usually regular, so hopefully it will go back to being that way.

it hasn't changed anything at all for me. I feel the same. but there are side effects to BC: increase risk of clots, breakthrough bleeding, cramping, change in appetite, increased risk of breast cancer in the first few years of taking the pill, but there are also a lot of benefits to the pill and for me, they outweigh the risks.

Loss of sexual drive

I didn't feel well on them. I was bloated, gained weight; it caused high blood pressure and headaches. It just wasn't right for me. COngrats on getting your AF! Hehe!
