Question What BC are you on?

I was on Ortho Low in the states.

Now my UK doc switched me too Cilest ,but i feel like it is way too much for me. I always feel very emotional and find myself wondering why i freaked out on my DH.

So what BC are you on? Is there an option with lower hormone doses?

Ah Ortho-Lo is a lower oestrogen version of Cilest but we don't have it here. It seems to be ok for some but many people say they feel really depressed on it...I don't know as I haven't been on it.

Currently I am on Yasmin and love it.

In the past I have used Dianette, Microgynon (TERRIBLE-LEVENORGESTREL!!!), Marvelon (Desogen in US).

Yasmin seems to be great for my PCOS, but I have symptoms of endometriosis which I am in the process if having checked, but my gynae seems happy with Yasmin for this, to be taken continuously. We'll see.

The side effects for the first 2 months were worth going through though, as now I feel good! My periods last 2 days as opposed to the 5-7 agonising days I would normally have. They aren't painless yet though.

The USA has so many different brands of bcp! I didn't realise just how many. I think we have a good choice though.

They don't suit everybody. However I am far happier on Yasmin than I have been on any other pill. On Marvelon, although for a while I felt great, I was constantly moody, paranoid and obsessive! And it was worse the week before and during my period. Ugh. Now I am pretty balanced!

xx
