If you want to lower your testosterone, Spironolactone, not BCPs, is the way to go. Your doctor can prescribe it specifically to help the hair.
With that said, some BCPs work better than others when it comes to hair. I think I've heard that Yaz is supposed to help, but I take a generic combination pill that's helped slightly over the past couple of years.

see that's why i was wondering what bcp would be the best because when i went to my local doctor for a common cold she said "i see you have PCOS and were on spironolactone and bcp and prozac is that true?" and i said yes.. she goes are you still taking them.. i said "no because i got to the point where i was so fed up with anti-depressants that i flushed the rest of mine down the toliet and stopped taking bcp because i thought my periods would fix themselves (i had taken sprionolactone for a good 2 years at the time) and i said all i want is a higher dosage of spironolactone and she said well your going to have to go back to your doctor and have him re-run tests to put you on a higher dosage.. (what she doesn't realize is that.. the endo is a good 3 hour drive away!! just to get a higher dosage!!

Can you call your endo and see if he'll write you a script over the phone? A lot of doctors do that nowadays, they even have computer programs that send the Rx straight to the pharmacy.

i sure hope so.. it's been so long since i last seen him.. he may tell me that he wants bloodwork done.. and i really honestly dont feel like driving all the way there.. unless i could get my blood drawn at my local doctors office and have it sent down there.. that would be nice but i dont know if they could do that or not

Actually, they can...I did that once when my endo was an hour away and I didn't feel like going all the way out there. He can probably fax or mail you (or the hospital) the b/w order and the lab at your local hospital will know to send him the results.

Yaz will help a lot...in combination with either Spironolactone or Flutamide. Flutamide helped me a TON with hair growth and it binded the testosterone in my body. My blood levels are normal now...I took Flutamide for a year and have been off it a year..I was ecstatic with the results! It is not for everyone, though..everyone reacts to meds differently...are you taking Metformin? That will help as well!

I was on yasmin for a year--it did help a lot with the extra hair growth, unfortunately it also worsened my hair loss. I now take ortho cyclen, which has been very good for me. I'm also on 100 mg of spiro. The combination of the two has really helped with the extra hair AND the hair loss
i know nava ring (miss spelled) is good for both. i was on spiro and didnt work but doing nava ring help alot for me. and also i end up doing some laser which helped me and i got it cheap too.
