Question What birth control are you on?

I'm new here. I was diagnosed in 2002 with PCOS. Since then, I have had 2 babies and have been on the Depo Provera shot for almost 2 years. I'm done having babies and am looking for another form of bc mainly because of what has been happening to me for the past few weeks. I am in the middle of my 3 month cycle where I shouldn't be bleeding and I started spotting (normal)...then, it turned into a heavy period with tons and tons of clots. My ob/gyn now has me on an estrogen pill to help slow/stop it. It has helped. I have an appointment this afternoon to discuss what to do next. The nurse told me he may have to do a D&C to get things cleaned up. I was going to have a IUD put in next month but I am rethinking that (because it doesn't stop ovulation). I also have high blood pressure...so, I'm not sure what options I have besides condoms! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! I have been searching the internet for over 2 hours with no real answers. TIA!

I am on the nuva ring, but I have been spotting every since I put it in. I don't know if thats normal or if it has something to do with my recent m/c.

What is your opinion of the nuva ring? I've been curious to try it but just think I would feel it all the time.

im on yaz...a lower does estrogen of yamine...it cleared my acne...but i am not so sure about teh mood stuff- i spend quite a few times in the first month crying...i think i was just getting used to it though--i will update you if you want now that i am in my second month ...i too also lost weight...15 pounds since i started it...it may have to be attributed to my allergy medicine and the yaz together - no way to be sure because i started them at the same time...and i have also cut out refined sugar and simlpe carbs (mostly...not completely), and soda and coffeee and alcohol to a minimum(not completely)...oh i think the yaz made my boobs get a little bigger...which is still pretty small...seems they may have flucuated...also they are a little more tender...

i do know any "tri" cyles pills are supposedly bad for pcos-ers because of the levels always going up and down...also yaz has a anti-androgen in it which is higher than most pills...if you have high testosterone they maybe you should try it

I just got a prescription for Yasmin today. My doctor said that it's supposed to be good for women with PCOS.

I just started on Yasmin a few days ago. So far so good. I was on NuvaRing and had no problems with it, but it wasn't helping my PCOS much at all other than the fact that I'm not ovulating now and I don't have that pain. Typically BCP aggrivate my migraines though, so I'm crossing my fingers that the Yasmin doesn't.

I am on Ortho TriCyclen LO. I was on Yasmin in the past, after my initial PCOS diagnosis. It did HELL on my body. My acne worsened, my weight increased, and I bled nonstop. I felt like a moody hellraiser LOL!

So far the Ortho TriCyclen Lo has done real well by me. I have only been on it for close to 4 months. No noticeable side effects other than me feeling a little more normal. My periods are definitely better.
