My DH and I have friends coming into town and staying for the weekend. We all love to eat (and drink) but we JUST started trying to eat like we should last week...
I fear either A) we'll sabotage our diets for the sake our guests' comfort or B) our friends will be really turned off eating what I usually make.
It is so tempting just to throw things up in the air and order pizza, go out somewhere, or make fried chicken or something, lol. I know that is not sensible because we often have guests over, or are going out of town. We need to learn how to stay relatively on track when we are around other people if we are to ever succeed.
So, what I'd like from you all are suggestions for meals. We need dishes that are low GI, but taste so yummy that even our friends on the "American" diet will love it. Dishes that are comparable in yumminess to pizza/cheeseburgers/italian and could happily replace them. I don't want to cook something weird, but something that is very common/familiar and does not appear or taste like "diet" food.
Help?

I may look into that. It seems these dishes are little on the formal side, though. idk. These are just friends coming over to kick back, and I wouldn't normally make seared tuna rolls or seafood salad... too weird/fancy, at least for my DH and friends' taste. We are very much meat and potato, plain jane over here. Thanks for the help though, I really appreciate it!
