Question What did your doctor............?

What did your doctor give you to induce af? I haven't gotten af since I delivered. It's been 5 weeks and I was wondering what they might give me to induce af.
TIA
Laura

I always take provera when it has been too long since AF came.

I've always heard provera. I have only had it once, way back before diagnosis even, so I don't know if it's different post partum. But it can take several weeks after your lochia is gone to start a cycle, and that would still be considered normal. (((Hugs))) I'm sorry it's taking so long.

About 6 weeks after our loss, my Dr was willing to give me provera to induce a period so we could start trying again. We decided to wait, but I hope that answers your question.

I had an earlier loss (8 weeks) but I also didn't get AF on my own after that. My doctor prescribed prometrium. It is a progesterone supplement like Provera but *I think* provera is artificial/chemical while prometrium is a natural version. My ob's belief was that the natural process would be a better way to help reset my system and help TTC without being too harsh.

But, I also had the problem that the prometrium didn't bring on AF until we increased the dose, and from what I've heard that isn't uncommon. In my experience, Provera would always trigger AF like clockwork.
