I've had bags under my eyes for a couple of weeks now. I've ready that it can be due to a number of different reasons such as vitamin deficiency, stress, even organ damage.
What are some thing you can do to get rid of them? I was going to give tea bags a try. Has anyone tried anything that actually works?

do you drink a lot of water? If you don't, then those bags could be from that. High sodium diet, water retention (which both are relieved with drinking water oddly enough), and not enough sleep are the most common triggers for it.
Stress is also a strong factor for it. I'm not sure of anything that you can do to fix the issue but to hide them I may be able to help. conceler under your foundation is a start on the dark spots them selves, but the trick I use all the time is white eye shadow on the inside of my nose at the points of my eyes and under my lower lashes on the outside to center half of the eye.
Make sure the tea bags are cold! lol. My friend in college had a big zit that she was trying to get rid of and she heard putting a tea bag on it would help so she put the tea bag in the hot water and then directly placed it on her face! Left a welt for like a week!
Yes, try and drink as much water. I've found that cucumber slices really do work a little...And clinique has a really nice undereye concealer

No way.......... really? hmm, i guess there could be many products that are multipurpose that are given different names due to us going ... no way... to butt cream on the face. LOL!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know if anyone has ever heard this, but a few years ago, a friend of mine was told she may be allergic to her cats. She has dark circles under her eyes. That is the only time I ever heard that, but if you have recently gotten a cat or other hairy animal...there might be something to it. I don't know...just thought I would throw it out there.

Thanks for all your replies! I probably dont' get enough sleep or drink enough water. I've sent DF to pick up some prep H cause I was too embarrased to buy it!! (isn't he wonderful) hope it works. Know how long/how many treatments it should take before it goes back down? I'd love to be baggage free by thanksgiving dinner with his family....

About the Preparation H....it USED to have an ingredient that would make it good for puffy eyes....but it doesn't in the US anymore. If you buy it up in Canada it still does, and likely the celebs that use it get it shipped in from up there, but state side it's no good for that anymore.
I checked. Very bummed!
The chilled tea bags do help.
There's an Avon creme just for eyes that helps, but I can't think what it's called right now. My mother uses it and it helps her.
The original Preparation H formula includes a yeast derivative. When the other amazing uses of the product became known, the FDA said prove it. The manufactures decided not to do the required research. After all that's not why they made this product. So the yeast derivative was removed in the United States, but not in Canada. That's right, the Preparation H product the models, make-up artists and Conan use is made only in Canada.
i've had this since i was 9 years old and have been looking for a way to resolve it since i started wearing makeup. i also heard that putting cold spoons on your eyes can help. also, if you want to use a concealer, somewhere along the line i learned that a yellow based concealer is better at balancing out the dark shadowing that puffiness creates. hope that helps a bit.
I do not sell Avon and I am not trying to sell anything -- I don't know if this post violates anything -- I hope not! If it does let me know and I'll edit it back out. I do know that Avon products work because I've been using them for a couple of years now. Here's the one I was thinking of earlier...
Avon introduces a unique eye cream designed to help reduce the look of dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles giving the area around the eyes a more youthful glow. AM or PM.5 fl oz.
"Anew Force Extra Eye Cream is formulated with Oxa Diacid and AVC-10, a patented vitamin C derivative created by Avon Global Skincare Laboratories", said Dr. Glen Anderson, Avon Skincare Research & Development. "The formula also contains optical diffusers to help blur fine lines plus an Anti-Fatigue Complex to help skin recover its natural energy."
AFTER TWO WEEKS:
Visibly reduces the look of under eye shadows, lines and wrinkles
Erases signs of fatigue
AND WITH CONTINUED USE:
100% of users showed improved skin clarity*
94% of users showed improvement in overall eye appearance*
"This new eye product really targets and helps reduce dark circles," said Meg Dobstetter, Senior Marketing Manager, Avon Skincare. "The special product formulation helps the skin around the eyes appear brighter and younger."
*Based on a dermatologist-supervised clinical study.
