Default What to do before diabetes test?

I went to the doctor today and need some advice. I am on metformin ER 1500mg and bc pills. I have not been feeling great lately (disrupted sleep, sore muscles, headaches, low libido, no energy) and thought it was hormone related and wanted to switch to different birth control. I mentioned to my dr that I have been more relaxed on my diet lately (still working out at least an hour every morning though), and have been keeping an eye on my fasting blood sugar levels and they have been pretty high when I was not strict with my food. One morning it was 130, which is the highest fasting result I've ever had.

I started back on my strict low carb, high fiber diet a couple days ago, and my question is: Since my test is in a week and I am currently trying to get my blood sugar down through strict diet (which I can in a week or so), then have a diabetes test, it won't show up that I'm diabetic. Am I meant to eat lots of carbs a few days before the test so it can measure what my body does with them and give me an accurate diagnosis?

I hope that wasn't too confusing. Any advice would be appreciated

Just eat your regular diet... That will give you the most accurate results. (I should think) You can lower your sugar through diet and exercise alone. Though you probably know this if you monitor your sugar regularly. 130 is not a target sugar range for fasting but it's not horrible either. (When I was diagnosed mine was as high as 165 in the morning.) I don't know if I helped.... hope I did!
