As long as I can remember, I've had a problem with thick, callused skin on my heels. Because of this I get deep cracks on my heels which make it very painful to walk. I use a pumice stone to scrub them everyday and I've tried all kinds creams and lotions but nothing seems to help much. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know of some good solutions to try? I would appreciate any suggestion anyone might have! Thanks!

I get this problem a lot in the winter. I've been using Eucerin cream at night b/f bed. It seams to help. But that's if I use it every night. If I skip a few nights, it gets worse. Hope this helps!

Can't wait to start WW again and loose the other 15lbs I gained with the last pregnancy and the 30lbs I still needed to lose with the first one.

I have tried the expensive foot creams. But I find the best thing is after a bath or before bed - or both - to put on lots of Nivea cream and then some warm socks.

I am soo glad you asked this question. I have it too, I haven't found anything yet. I have tried foot creams and every little jar of stuff for cracked heals. I can't wait to see if someone else has any suggestions.

Mine don't get that bad, but I have found soaking my feet in a foot spa (less than $20.00 at Walmart, or just get a pan of hot water) and then scrubbing them with a rough towel, massaging in cocoa butter (the Palmer's stuff, not the thin, milky stuff) and then slathering on some more after it's absorbed, put on socks overnight. It makes a BIG difference for me.

Jan/Feb - Clomid 150mg, O'd, BFN
Feb/March - taking break due to 3-inch cyst
March/April - Clomid 150mg, praying...
What works best for me is Kerasal. You can get it in ointment or lotion form.. I found it at Target, but I'm sure many other retailers carry it as well. I use it every night before going to bed and it makes a huge difference. I noticed my feet were a lot softer after a few days of use.

I am a retin -A user. I hated the generic so i have un-used tubes of it at home. I put it on feet for a week or two and then use a metal callous scraper thinggy and poof, all that dead skin comes off real nicely.
Well you could use petroleum jelly or bagbalm(spelling). Slather that stuff on your feet and put socks on and leave them on for at least 8 hours. It feels ucky but it works.
yes i had this problem. My private chiropodist was/is my saviour at a small cost of £14 per 8 weeks. Highly recommended. That and Hush Puppy shoes of course
I've done the bag balm (found at feed stores) stuff, too. It is icky, but does work. However, I recently a woman that makes and sells her own both and body products that are 100% natural and absolutely wonderful. Her name is Geneva Hill and her products are called Geneva's Pure Joy. She is located here in Pensacola, FL. Her Tropical Orchard Sea Salt Scrub is wonderful for cracked, dry feet and hands. I keep it in my shower and use it at least a few times per week. It only takes a tiny bit. She also has Amber Sports Rub. It is somewhat waxy, but is great!
She also has face creams, cuticle oils, foot bath, massage/body oil, hair glaze, eye pillows (for those of us with killer headaches!!), hydrating mist (can be a great feminine spray), astringent, bath salts, hand creams and linen spray (absolutely wonderful on pillow cases and sheets!).
Her email is gchill@cox.net Just put Pure Joe in the subject line. I'm sure that she would be willing to send anyone info on her products. If anyone wishes for her address or phone number, just send me a private message.

Thank you so much, everyone, for the great ideas! I'm definitely going to try them out and see if I can do something about these cracks, not to mention try to pretty up my feet for the warm weather

I found a foot scraper advertised in one of my magazines called Microplane. You can go to their website. This metal foot scraper does not hurt at all, and it gets rid of that rough skin. I also try and use heel crack cream from Walmart when I get the cracks. They are very painful, and mine bleed sometimes, too.
I didn't know if a foot doctor would help-what would one do? Wouldn't it be something that would have to be ongoing, or could one do something as a one time fix?

I've wondered if there's some sort of prescription that might help better than the creams you can buy in the store. And would you go to a podiatrist or a dermatologist? Anyone know?

i have the same problem. i have had good luck with creamy vaseline and the eucerin cream. for me, i know i have to be very consistent, especially in the winter months. if i miss any applications, it takes a week or more to "fix" it again. i have one very deep stubborn crack that will not heel this winter...
i live in pa where it gets cold and the air gets dry inside. the only time it disappeared was during the week i spent in fl with my parents for my spring break ... i guess i'll have to wait for spring to get his one healed... :-)
it is painful, if you don't get them you can't imagine it.... i, too, have tried every cream, lotion, or potion i see advertised. i spend more money on skin care for my feet than i do for my face!
