Default what to do from here: Not IR, thin??? need help!

What am i suppose to do now? I don't know what to do from here, I am not IR, my fasting insulin levels came back at 8. I'm thin. I don't want to go on the birth control pill. So whats left for me? I've tried herbs, to no avail! I just don't know what to do!
I guess i could always take provera every months to get AF, but I will have to be on other meds to control my acne and another med to control my hairyness.
does anyone have any suggestions? I just am so upset i don't know where to go. I just wish that I could be Normal.
suggestions please....anything....i'm desperate.....

Default Might want to try

Hi there,

I understand your fustration. You need to speak with your doctor about treatment options.

Another idea would be to go to a naturopath. They can help sometimes...it's natural method.

Also might want to check out medications. You also need to know what result you want. Meaning this is a long term thing.

Hope you get the answers you need. Stay strong.

Default Metformin has been a miracle drug

for me. I didn't "test" as insulin resistant (fasting was 5), but I wanted to try Metformin. I am on the XR (extended release version) and it has been a wonderful drug for me. I also take the pill (I was having terrible PMS) and I feel better than I have EVER felt. I was diagnosed at 19 only treated witht he pill until 34, and I believe if I had taken Metformin earlier I wouldn't have had to struggle with such severe symptoms and extremely high testosterone. (101). Hope you find the answers you are looking for!

hi candace, I'm in the same situation as you - thin, not IR, don't want to take BCPs and feel like I am fast running out of options. currently I am giving herbs a try - vitex, starflower oil and b complex. no results yet, but I'm holding out hope. Do you have a good / sympathetic doctor? Have you seen an endo? For a lot of women here the key seems to have been finding a doctor who will take you seriously and help you try out all the options. (sadly my doctor is the opposite of these things and thinks I am a complaining female making a fuss about nothing!) Anyway I can't really offer advice - I wish I could! - but I just wanted to say hi and that you are not alone. I know how you are feeling and I'm sorry it's tough for you at the moment. I hope you will find a solution.

thanks for the responses!

No endemetreosis hasn't been mentioned. I really don't know anything about it actually, The only thing i know about it is, your uterine lining grows outside of the uterus. all my symptoms and bloodwork seem to indicate PCOS. I was diagnosed at 14, and was put on the pill. Could it be possible that I have endometreosis?
I don't even know what I want. Were going to be starting fertility treatments next week, so obviously my main concern NOW is to get pregnant. But I was hoping that my Dr. would put me on met, although she doesn't want to since im not IR, even though we discussed how it helps ppl who don't have IR. she still wasn't comfortable with it. I'm not seeing an RE I just don't have the money for one, they can be soo expensive. I just wish there was something i could do to be "normal"! I am soo sick of dealing with this.
I'm just lost, and don't know what other options there are for me. It just sucks
