What do I ask the Doctor?

Hi, this question has probably been asked loads of times on this forum.

I was diagnosed with PCOS last year - I am on Diannette. I am going to the doctors on Friday as my periods have become very light and I still cannot lose any weight through exercise and diet - more like putting on more.

What medication should I ask the doctor to give me to aid my weight loss and hopefully sort out my periods as I am worried my fertility is being affected.

Look forward to some advice.

If you want to try coming off the dianette then Metformin might be an appropriate drug to try. It should help you lose weight (if you are over weight to start with) and has really helped me with my irregular cycle. I didn't have a period for 10 months after I came off the pill. It's worth thinking about if you are interested in ttc at some point in the future as you will need your cycle to get back to normal and if you're anything like me, it could be an issue (but not necessarily I hasten to add!)
