My Mood: Points: 3,163.89 Bank: 352,050.91 Total Points: 355,214.80 | What do I do? In Jan of 2005, after a year of TTC, we went to an RE who started running tests to find out what was going on. They ran basic bloodwork, did an ultrasound on a tuesday and diagnosed me with polycystic ovaries. I found out that thursday I was pregnant, obviously never completed any other tests.
I had my son in october, I have no idea if I have IR and when I talked to my OB/Gyn about it, she said to wait for a while, that chances are my body might reset itself. I lost my pregnancy weight but I was overweight to begin with and it's been such a battle for the past 10 years. So, I need to lose weight but I'm not really sure where to go from here with regards to my weight and just on just general health issues either. The fertility clinic never really talked to me about anything since I concieved right when I was diagnosed....what should I be doing or what do I need to do? I just feel really lost right now... |

First I would recommend seeing a trustworthy, knowledgable doctor and find out if you have pcos or just polycystic ovaries, there is a big difference. If you do have pcos, your body isn't just going to reset itself. So in my opinion seeing a doctor would be the first step. At the same time there are many things you can do to make sure you are leading the healthiest lifestyle possible. Check out the alternative remedies section for some helpful hints |

A lot of women find that going on a low carb diet helps out a lot. There are plenty of diets out there that might work for you. There is an abundance of treatment options. The trick is just finding what works best for your body. Search around here and see what works for others. Find a doctor who understands PCOS. There is a doctor finder section here. Post on there to find some recommendations in your area. Good luck! |
