Default What do I do? (First time off the pill)

Hi everyone!
For those of you who don't know, I am on my first cycle off the pill.
As per FF I am supposed to be getting my period on thr 17th of November.
Just wondering... What do I do if I don't get it and I'm not pregnant? Does my cycle start over? How long can I go without having a period without getting a drug to induce it? Please get back to me asap. Thanks a bunch cysters!!!

I went off the pill in April and was waiting in May for AF. My doctor told me to take a hpt and if I wasn't pregnant and didn't start he would induce AF and we would start clomid.
However, I took a test 11 dpo because of nausea...it was negative. Took another test 17 dpo (had not started AF yet) and it was positive.
So be 100% sure you are not pregnant before inducing your period and starting any medications.
Good luck!

I assume you O'd? (if you give us the link we can ooooh and aaaaah your chart) If you O'd and get no AF you're almost certainly pregnant. If you're not preggers AF should come typically around 14 DPO, but it's normal to have her visit you from 10 DPO 'til 16 DPO, sometimes even as late as 18 DPO.

If however you don't get AF and you're not pregnant you most likely didn't O. You can try some alternative remedies yourself to induce AF or ask your doctor for something. If you didn't O you technically don't get AF but some kind of bleeding that sheds the lining you've build up. This can take as little as a few weeks up to many months. It is recommended you don't go without AF for more than three months because of possible growth of bad cells in your uterus.

A new chart will start on FF whenever you enter the first day of AF-like bleeding.

Ofcourse I hope you get your BFP this cycle!

I'm not sure if I O'd. I have been charting but have not been taking my temp. (I will start this month). My CM suggests I have O'd but I'm not too sure. I decided to get off the pill to see what happens naturally so if I don't get AF I am not going to be taking any drugs. If by any chance I don't get my AF for 3 months is it safe to go back on the pill for a bit so that I have it?

Kristine, in my honest opinion it's safe to use the pill to get AF. There are also cysters who are put on the pill for one cycle to get clear of a cyst and some women use the pill so that they'll ovulate after quiting. I myself have ovulated every time after quiting the pill, but I took it more than 1 month (it was more like 3). I know there are cysters who claim the pill is the reason they suffer from PCOS, but I don't think it's the case with me since my periods have been very irregular from the start. If you do decide to use the pill you might want to make sure it's a pill that doesn't contain too many androgens. There is a BCP board, maybe you can ask over there which pill they'd recommend. Probably Diane. If you don't feel comfortable going on the pill again (even just for 1 cycle) you could ask your doctor for Provera, it's a medicine used for inducing a bleed. HTH and if you've anymore questions, feel free to ask!
