What do I do now? Hello all!
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1998. At that time, I was put on a BCP and told that was the only remedy. Since then, I have tried five different brands of BCP's to include Mircette, Jasmine, Tri-cycline and others. I've also tried Met, Avandia, Actos, and Avandamet. While the BCP's did produce AF, the side effects were intolerable. None of the insulin sensitizing medications produced AF, and again the S/e were intolerable. The only medication to work and not produce any s/e was Clomid. But, DH and I are not currently TTC'ing; so I don't see the necessity of me taking that drug. I have now been off meds for over a year. I've gained 60+ pounds, and haven't had AF in six months. My dr would like to have me go back on BCP's until I'm ready to start TTC'ing again. I'm apprehensive. While she is suggesting a different BCP than I've tried before (NUVARING), I'm still scared of the s/e. Also, I've read from another cyster that there is a possibility of NUVARING affecting one's ability to TTC because the hormones are initiated and kept right by the eggies.
I would greatly appreciate any of your input on this issue!
Thanks!
