Unhappy What Do I Do Now?!!

Hey ladies! I have a question. I started taking met 500mg twice a day on October 31st. My 2nd day on it I started spotting and spotted for a good 11 or 12 days. Finally on November 19th I got AF! Yes that was great news to me but it's now December 3rd and I am still on my period. I was to have a cystoscopy on the 20th for another problem but cancelled it due to AF. I rescheduled it and am supposed to go tomorrow morning for it but I am still bleeding. They say they can do the procedure even if I am on my period but I have been keeping track of my bleeding and this procedure will cause bleeding after it's done and I don't want to confuse that bleeding with AF bleeding. Do I cancel again? Do I call my regular doc and tell her AF came but now she wont go away? What can she do to stop it, put me on BCP? I don't want that cause I am ttc. Any advice would be helpful at this point and much appreciated. Also before met I didn't have AF for 3 months. So is it possible that is why I am still bleeding? I know alot of questions but i'm kinda at a rock and a hard place now and don't know what to do! Thanks and lots of love and babydust to you all!

I would discuss with GYN and see what they want to do. You may want to see if you can go in for a pelvic so they can check to see if anything else is causing the bleeding.

I had bleeding for over a month earlier this year from a cervical polyp and it would not have been found without an exam.

Good luck!

I would call my Dr as well and see what she said. Your doctor may want to do an exam.

Good luck I hope you get a bfp very soon.

Hi there! I don't know what to suggest about the procedure, although I'd probably just go ahead and have it done. However, when I had my longest cycle (82 days) I bled for 2 1/2 months after. Really crampy and clots etc. My dr put me on birth control pills and we had to find the right one (I ended up taking 3 different brands) to finally make the bleeding stop. He said that with our condition and having such long cycles that sometimes there is such a build up of lining that it needs to come away. I would see your dr and find out what he/she will do for you to make it stop. I know how frustrating this is especially when you are ttc. I couldn't beleive that I was taking bcp's when all I wanted was to get pregnant! I was put on clomid after my bleed, however, I'd already been on Met for a year at that point (they usually like to see if Met alone will help before moving on to other ovulation induction drugs). Also, make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin. There is more iron in them and with your blood loss you want to make sure you have enough. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. I hope you get everything sorted out soon and you'll be ttc again in no time!

You should call them and ask...they are the only ones who'll really be able to tell you what is and isn't feasable.

You should also have a talk with your Dr..I suspect he may want to do some bloodwork to see where everything is so he can gauge how the drug is working for you.
