Here is a run down: 1500mg of metformin. I had a major energy increase, weight loss, periods, ovulation which lead to pregnancy, feel emotionally stable, less anxiety.
17 months later : 1500mgs of met. Major energy decrease, weight gain, still have periods, ovulation?, miscarried, emotionally unstable, more anxiety.
Sounds like met quit doing her job huh Now what????
Thanks if you can help
I think it's premature to assume that thje pills are to blame until you take a look at your bloodwork. What do your labs look like? Are your sugars/insulin under control? What's your diet/exercise like?
So many factors like stress (that would understandably come with the loss of your pregnancy), dietary issues, sleep, genes etc could be playing arole, and I would have a heart to heart with your Dr about what course of action is best for you.
I'm so very sorry about your miscarriage and I hope you can get the answers you need.

I feel your pain - I was feeling the exact same way a couple of months ago. I have been working with my endo to figure out what's going on - my blood sugar continues to be high despite all of the effort I've been making and the Met. Well, I saw her last week, thinking I was at the last straw and she actually put me on Byetta. It's an injectable protein that works in conjunction with the Met. Hopefully it will work for me.

It's funny that you should post your question, because I have been wondering the very same thing myself. When I started Met two years ago, I was able to get pg right away. After I had DD, I started the Met again, and got pg for the second time. Following the birth of DS, I started it again and my periods were every 32 - 35 days. Then they started getting further apart...41 days. I upped my Met from 1500mg to 2000mg, and I went back to 34 days. I'm now on CD 45 with no AF in sight. I'm not pg (believe me...I've tested and tested) so I'm wondering if my body is getting used to it?? It would suck if it was true.
Anyway, I'm sorry to hijack your thread. I was just wondering the exact same thing and I'm hoping we can find some answers.
Be well.

You are more than welcome kis95 to give your input Im afraid that my period will begin doing that. I was totally iregular before met.
Well, AF reared her head this morning. CD46. I'm happy, but it's the longest cycle I've had in a long time. I'll just have to keep an eye on things and see what next cycle brings. I'm getting some natural progesterone cream from a Cyster in the States, and I'm hoping that'll help me out.

Well, before I started Met, I only had AF once every 3 or 4 (or 5 or 6) months. If I ovulated, I never knew when, and if I ovulated really late, the egg would be of a much lower quality. With Met I had a regular cycle, thus ovulating, thus being able to get pg...twice...within a year. It all works hand-in-hand.
