LOL,

My DW got me this awesome framing hammer for Valentines Day one year and I was completely thrilled!

But then again I'm a carpenter.

Nevermind =)

Well, it sounds like you already know the kind of things that he likes...so if you could find one of those things that you know he really wants, then I'd try to get that. But at the same time, you said he usually buys whatever he wants, himself; so if that's the case, then maybe you could do like a romantic evening at home.
You could have a candlelight dinner & then maybe give each other a massage, or maybe have a candlelight bubble bath for two ? I don't know about your husband, but I know that pretty much anything my wife could get me for Valentine's Day, I would appreciate. It's mainly just knowing that she cared enough to get me something, more than it is the actual gift that she gave me. Especially if it's something sweet or romantic that she put a lot of thought into. But that's just me....maybe I'm different than most men, I don't know.

I'm sure he'll appreciate anything that you do for him. Good luck & let us know how it turns out !!
