I received my lab result's and my Glucose was 146. But that was just regular fasting and blood drawn. Endo wants me to do a glocose tolerance test. But I need to call and schedule it. He also wants a HbA1c test done. Anyone know what this is? I would appreciate any insite, I called the office but they had me on hold forever and I am at workSo I am calling later. BUT the curiosity is killing me, so I need some opinions.

I'm doing ok for the most part. When I was first diagnosed, I was in shock. Not that I really should've been. I've been heading towards diabetes for a long time. I'm still trying to get my eating under control, and trying to exercise more. Even though I know eating healthier is the right thing to do, I still eat way too much crappy foods. I don't seem to have any motivation. I've lost a little bit of weight, but I think that's due more to the meds (phentermine and metformin) than anything. I know once I get into a routine I'll be fine, but getting there is the hard part! My case is really quite mild, thankfully. When I was diagnosed, my fasting blood sugar was 134, and my AC1 was 6.3. It could be tons worse. I just want to get myself under control before things go really haywire!!! How long have you been diabetic???
Things will get easier though. You'll learn the things that your body reacts well to, and the stuff it doesn't.
