I am a devout Roman Catholic, and I LOVE our Holy Father! I admire him in that he is trying very hard to keep together what JPII the Great established. I also like the fact that he is an accomplished pianist (I'm a music teacher!), and I would love to hear him play sometime. We Catholics in America love our "Papa Ratzi", as he has been known to call himself!
By the way, I LOVE Italians! I had the pleasure of going to Italy for a week back in 2000, and the Italian people are some of the most gracious people I have ever met!

It's taking some getting used to, but at least we have a leader that worked very closely with JPII...I recently read that they had lunch together once a week, followed by 90-minute meetings! I'm so glad I had the pleasure of seeing JPII twice while in Rome in 2000. It was the most amazing feeling I will ever know!

I like how he is not simply going about, tossing things to and fro like some would have wished/thought, making drastic changes very quickly. He is a VERY smart man...he may not be the "personality" the JPII was, but each pope is talented in a different way. And believing that the Holy Spirit guides the selection, we know that the right man is there, for the time he is in.
I love the fact that His Holiness is encouraging of the Latin Mass, as well as bringing back some of the OLD music....he has good taste, lol. There's nothing like a good schola to get my "Mass Gear" running smoothly. LOL
I think His Holiness is wonderful. I also would dearly LOVE to go on a pilgramage thru Italy (and the rest of Europe, but we'll take it one country at a time, why don't we? LOL). Not just for the Vatican, as gorgeous as it is, but the rest of the country as well...so lovely. SOOOOO much history.
