What Do You Think -- WWYD?

ugh...need some advice or input if you're willing to offer any please....

We're just starting to ttc #2, so I just started paying more attention my cycles at the end of July, so I don't have a whole lot of history to provide here. I can say that I have fairly 'regular' cycles - at least one every 35 days or so.

July period was from the 4th - 12th = 9 day period
August period was 5th - 19th = 15 days period

So, my cycle length for July was 32 days (July 4 - August 4th....first day of period to day before new cycle on Aug. 5th)

I know I'm still trying to get my bearings and all and find an average cycle length, but with only 32 day cycle to base things on I was "anticipating" that my next cycle would start on Sept. 5th, which would in a perfect world (ha-ha) would put my 'O' at CD 19 (Aug. 23)

Now to my actual question -- for the past two days I've had spotting (brown to pink and then to a tinge of red). Today, even though it's still pretty light, it's enough that I would put on a liner and it's red. I'm on CD 22 -- did my period start??

It seems like such a silly question, surely a grown woman would know but I'm just thrown by a 22 day cycle....

A few random extra pieces of info:

1. I started using Fertility Friend and it estimated that my O would have been around the Aug 19th.
2. I just started using the CBEFM this cycle and it never picked up a high or peak.
3. I have been trying out Hyponidd ("natural met") this cycle until I got an actual Rx for the real deal, which I did and started last night.
4. I just started BBT this morning (97.29), so I don't have any of that info to share in terms of history yet either.
5. I felt horrible on Saturday - headache (migrainish), nauseous all day. It's progressively gotten better but still feel a bit icky on and off (headache is gone). Light cramping last night and this morning -- all period symptoms I've had before. I just assumed I caught a bug b/c it seemed a bit early for pms I thought.
6. I saw Dr yesterday and I do have an "inflamed" ear (she didn't say ear infection) that she started my on cipro drops for....would that cause anything to be weird??

I hate to officially start a new cycle (on the CBEFM monitor) if this isn't really a new cycle as it would throw things off (I think??). I believe I can wait until CD5 to actually start the monitor again, so I will definitely wait a few days on that to make sure one way or the other...

So, what would you do -- if you were in my shoes would you say your new cycle started??

If I were in your shoes, I would POAS. I don't want to give you false hope, but that sounds pretty good to me.

since you had such a long period, this cycle might just be wacky for you. i didn't have AF for 100 days, then i got her for about 5 days, and around CD 20 she started again.

if you did O around the 19th it's too early to POAS

POAS but since you have had some sort of a flow for 3 days, and now it's red, it does look like AF is here. Plus 97.29 is low for most people, and you do have low temps while on AF. Let us know!

Well, I poas this morning -- many of them, actually b/c I have no idea what's going on and all neg.

CBEFM = Low
OPK = Neg
BFN

Kept a liner on last night and this morning it was clean but toilet tissue first thing this morning is totally red (sorry if tmi).

So not a steady flow but seems the "spotting" is here for the duration. Still going to wait and see what happens today, but pretty sure AF is starting. Crampy, sore bbs, nausea, headaches = all things period related for me.

If that is the case would you mark today as day 1?

I feel a bit silly asking but after reading these boards so much there seems to be different ways people count...if it's not heavy enought to even reach a liner but definitely red when wiped is that AF or still considered spotting?

if it keeps up for the next couple of days, i would probably mark the first day of red as CD1 - this is after my experiences with spotting for 15-20 days where I went to the dr each time, had an u/s and she said that it was my period each time.
