Default what do you use on arm hair?

I don't think I ever realized how hairy my arms are until the beginning of this year when I went to see an RE. He asked " do you have a lot of excess hair growth, other than on your arms?" Well, gee, now that you've pointed it out....something else to obsess over! lol

So, I tried Nair facial hair remover (as I was using it on my chin) on a small space on my arm. It didn't fully remove the hair and the pieces it left behind look worse than they did before I touched them. Just curious what would be good to use on my arms? TIA ladies!

hi

I just shave mine when I have a bath. I use a Gilette razor, and Gilette gel.

I shave with the "Intuition" razor in the shower -- very quick & easy this way.

I am also looking for a way to deal with excessive arm hair. It seems like the most common way for people is to shave. But I would really rather not do that, I am so afraid it is going to end up badly. I am thinking about waxing, but I would also like a back up way in case I need it and can't get to a salon.

Has anyone used Nair, Veet, Magic Cream, anything like that and had good results?

Thanks,
Katie

Hey arm hair is normal!!

So what I do is take a guys electric razor and buz it down to wear it is not that long and no one notices. I used to do the nair thing but then it looked like a dramtic change. So now I just use one of those trimmers that will shave down to like 1/8 of an inch. That way it is still softer and I think it looks better. Good Luck to you!

Sincerely,

Elaine

I shave as well, with a plain ol' 2-blade ladies' Bic. It really is no hassle and takes about a minute in the shower. I do it every day, but every other day would probably be OK. My arms are smooth as a baby's bum bum.

As for the age-old, "Does it grow back thicker?" question, I hope to never find out that answer!

I just trim mine with one of those personal hair trimmers. I don't think it's necessary to get rid of ALL of it.

I have bleached them, but the fumes are nasty and unless you can get a ton of cheap hair bleach, it's too expensive. I prefer shaving.

I wax and I love it! I had it done at a salon for a while. Now I've invested in a wax heater, and I do it myself every 4 - 6 weeks. I love the way it makes my arms feel. It is the ultimate exfoliation treatment. I bleached for years, but my hair is very resistant to bleach, and the bleach would start giving me this awful burning sensation before the hair was bleached.

probally the best option would be to wax.... but it's too painful and expensive for me.... i shave mine daily in the shower, it only takes a few seconds,, i only shave fom the wrist to elbows,, the hair above my elbows is not too bad.... since i keep then clean shaven no one even notices,, i worked with a girl who noticed i shave after 1.5yrs!!!! ..... i shave kinda from the otside to the inside (againt the hair) if that makes sense...

LOl. I use Cloth Tape. My FIL left it here when he moved. I put it on my arms and it didnt hurt like wax. No mess. Just put it on like tape ( 3 strips each arm) on and ripped it off. There was a few hairs left but it looked sooo much better.

Wow, that was definitely brave! Not sure I could have done that one!

I have waxed, shaved, but usually I trim it down and then bleach. With a little and I do mean little tan it looks quite natural. Bleaching lasts about a month or two.
