What does a high level of Free Thyroxin Index mean?
My thyroxin came in at 9% (range 5.0-11.6). My free thyroxin index was high, 13.9% (range 6-10.5)
What does this indicate? Hyper/hypo? I had the test repeated and I am waiting for the results. If anyone one knows what this means, I would really appreciate your response. Thanks!

I'm not an endocrinologsit, but it sounds like you are a little hyperthyroid. If you are already on Synthroid or another thyroid hormone, they will likely lower it. Your doctor should be able to claify the tests better for you, just ask lots of questions!

Thank you for replying. I did find out that it was hyperthyroid (for some reason that hypo) but she said it was just a 'hair' on the higher side. She wants to recheck it in a month because she said the values can change and if they are still up, she will medicate me. Thank you for replying.
