Question What does the mc tissue look like? (Warning:TMI)

I started miscarrying on Sunday. Started with painful cramps, felt like contractions that came in waves every few minutes. The discharge was smallish clots, a river of blood and the final bit (the most painful cramp) was a clot with a blob of attached whitish tissue. I was checking everything that came out because there was nothing seen in my u/s at 5 1/2-6 weeks and there was a real fear of an ectopic pregnancy. Those of you who've gone through this before, does this stuff seem like the sac, embryo?

I'm having mild crampy pain and occasional twinges on my lower left side and shoulder pain that feels like gas pain on the left side also and getting a little panicky as these are signs of ectopic pregnancy. My betas have decreased by a ton, so there's really not that much fear of an ectopic, but still I worry.

Everything is still so small at this point that there really is no way to tell. Keep getting your betas checked and as long as they keep going down and not rollercoasting you don't have any fear of an ectopic.

I'm pretty sure the tissue will be whitish-grey in color but I'm not positive on that one...that's what I've heard.

I never knew when I passed anything during each of my m/c's. Partially b/c I didn't want to know b/c I would have been a completely wreck and partially b/c I knew that I wasn't going to inspect everything that came out of me.

It's my understanding the tissue should be whitish-gray. I never passed anything with my first one other than blood (had to have a D&C) and wasn't far enough along to have any tissue with the second and third loss.

You are in my thoughts.

Just found out my beta is 76, so it's going down at the rate it should, halving every 2 days. So by next week, hopefully this nightmare will be over. I know what you mean about finding it difficult to look at the tissue. In my case, I had 2 u/s that didn't detect anything. I wanted some hard proof of this pregnancy and found myself checking everything. I had a very large wave of sadness come over me when it came out of me. Kept thinking if my body worked right, this would have developed into a baby by december

I'm very sorry about your loss. It sounds like it is progressing normally, so there shouldn't be anything physical to worry about. The heartache is obviously more painful and lasting, and we're here to listen whenever you need.
Hugs,
Sheri
