Default what does this mean

do you think? I have been feeling awful lately. For months actually. I thought maybe it was because I am sleep deprived from taking care of my 8.5 month old daughter. But it can't be. Yesterday, I went off my normal eating habits and just ate sugary items, cookies, icecream, candy and felt great for the first time in ages!!! I am a thin cyster (because I work out and watch my calorie intake, not because I have good genes) and supposedly have normal insulin and glucose levels. Actually they are really low. I am afraid this is a bad sign...lol. Oh, and when I have gone on low carb diets in the past because PCOS requires lower carb diets, I have felt awful, actually the same way I do now. And when I eat a lot of sugary refined carbs I feel good! And I have been craving sugar the past week or so like craaaaazzzyyy!

Hi! I think you're experiencing the sugar "rush". Since you don't normally eat those refined carbs, your body is super sensitive to it now. I'm the same way. Those refined sugars make me feel good, but the feeling is only temporary. I would think once in a while, it would be ok to reward your good eating habits with one of your favorite sugary snacks...my favorites are ice cream or coca cola.
O, and also about you craving sweets this past week, that's your body responding to the quick availability of sugar. It's easier to process the refined sugar, so you're body doesn't have to work as hard, so of your body will naturally say "more please!"

Another consideration is whether you are breastfeeding. If you are, then listen to what your body is telling you. BM production requires a lot of energy from your body, and your body might just be telling you you need more sugar, stat! I'm still BFing myself, so I indulge in those sugar cravings more often than before I was PG.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, that does help, and I am breastfeeding. I am going to do a "test" and eat more sugar within my calorie range and see if that makes my awful stupor go away.

I agree. When you are on a lower sugar diet then eat sugar you can get that rush. More naturally sugary foods with good fiber might help You might want to get retested for IR and see if you are borderline.
