Default What does this mean?

Here I am throwing up on metformin and I get a letter from my GYN about my recent blood work.

I is over a year since I had a full hormone profile done and in that time I lost about 30 pounds in weight.

However my PCOS type symptoms are still here - weird AF - some heavy some light sometimes 100 day cycle sometimes 40 days and 1 x 14 days! I haven't been testing to see if I am ovulating as we are not "seriously" TTC - if it happens it happens... if not then I'm cool about it.

But my blood work has come back COMPLETELY NORMAL! This is BEFORE I took the metformin.... apparently all the profiles look like a normal woman without PCOS.

What does that mean? GYN reckons that the weight loss has triggered ovulation.

Anyway I phoned his office and he is away but I spoke to his assistant and she said she would text him to find out whether I should come off the met or not - no point taking it if I don't need it.

Is this normal? Does this mean I am normal now??? I feel like a PCOS person even if my bloodwork says I am not... so what IS wrong with me?

I am going to see him again on 14 Nov...

Fleur

fleur-Okay, here's my story: My blood work is 100% normal and always has been. Moreover, I have ZERO symptoms of PCOS except irregular cycles. My RE says that my ovaries respond and look like those of someone with PCOS. Because of that and our infertility problems, they are treating me as such. I am not IR but am on metformin to hopefully help. In my opinion, there is a huge spectrum of PCOS. Maybe you were on the higher, more severe end and now you're on the lower, less severe spectrum . It could certainly explain the continued irregular cycles. HTH
