What does this mean?

I was diagnosed with PCOS 10 years ago. I took medicines on and off going through acne and falling hair to cysts and enlarged ovaries. Its just that i am not obese. Now i have been married for 2 years and i was trying to conceive but it wasnt happening. So i went to see my doctor and told her that i have been diagnosed with PCOS in my country and now after getting married i am here. I need to get treated and conceive.

She brought out the blood work they did for my physical, the first day i went there earlier. she replied, oh you dont have PCOS, somebody misdiagnosed you. There is nothing wrong with you or your thyroid and hormones. And she said that they dont even talk about conceiving unless 3 years have passed after marriage or whatever. She didnt do any relevent tests or anything.

I got mad!! and when i was visiting my parents lastmonth, i got my old test results. Yesterday i went to see my doc again and just showed her. Would you believe me. She said oh you have PCOS. I am not an expert of that so i wouldnt know. I'll review your case and then see what should be done. and she said its already 2 years of trying to conceive, you need to see a fertility doctor.

Why did she deny me any tests or any referral the first time i told her. Is she really a docter. Supposedly she is board certified. I dont understand this. She wasted so much of my time. Lets see what she tells me now!

Oh Sweetie I know how you feel- for some reason I have always had the worst luck with Drs. I am not sure why but I always felt the need to give them a second chance. It wasn't until about a year ago when after waiting more than a half an hour for at my DR's office she finally came in- and without even looking at me starts discussing my issues with menopause- by the way I am 25 years old and my appointment was because I broke my rib. She had picked up the wrong woman's chart and didn't have a clue who I was- Needless to say I walked out and never went back. My advice to you is to make a complaint to the medical board(they won't do much but start a file on her) but at least the next time she screws up they will notice the pattern.

Thanks for this advise. I think I'll see if she refers me to a doc who actually knows about PCOS, then thats good. Otherwise i'll report her certainly.
