what does provera actually do?

i think it just jump starts AF, is that right? if so, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're ovulating, just that AF is being induced. is that correct?

i'm just asking because i'm taking it 7 days a week (on day 5 now) every 6 weeks (if no AF) and this is my first time taking it. we're ttc, so i am just wondering if i have to keep taking the provera to induce AF, does that mean i'm not ovulating?

Yes, Provera is used to start AF. Every time I ever used it, though, the doctor wanted a pregnancy test to be sure I wasn't pregnant.
