Default What to expect at Laser consultation?

I've decided it's time to invest in laser. My hormones seem to be in check, spiro is helping, and I've got some $$$ to spare. I'm tired of this being something I have to think about every day. I gave up waxing and plucking almost 2 weeks ago and started shaving. I can't wait to get this process started. I've been waxing and plucking often since my teens, so I have no idea how much hair is really there. I've never seen it all at once, and I'm kinda terrified to know that I will actually soon be seeing how bad it really is.

I have 2 laser consultations scheduled for next week. What should I be expecting? Any questions I should be asking? Do they do a test area normally? Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have had many laser sessions done. Only one that I have had results with is Light Sheer. What ever you do, don't go for an IPL machine, they temporary remove hair and doesn't reduce/eliminate for long term.

They might do a patch test. You might want the hair to grow in just a bit so they know the coarseness of the hair. They might even be able to tell you many treatments you might need (it's approximate of course).

Watch out for high pressure sales that try and make you do it right then and there. A good place will apply a moisturizer after the treatment so your skin doesn't dry up. Please do shop around for prices as they can vary from place to place. I will warn you it hurts a bit more than waxing but worth it in the end!

Good luck!

You might want to ask them if they think you're a good candidate for laser, and why...

Ask how the laser they use differs from other lasers on the market...

Ask how far apart your sessions will be...

Ask if there's an actual dermatologist on staff. My preference is to have an actual medical doctor on staff.

Yes, they'll do a patch test (depending on the type of laser, you might not need moisturizer, or have pain...)

Ask for a full 'menu' of their pricing sked, but don't make your decision until you're home and away from the 'pressure'.

Check out http://cosmeticenhancementsforum.com...wforum.php?f=3

They have a list of questions to ask at your consultation.
