My doc today informed me that it really doesn't regulate them at all? I'm confused. I've been taking Dianette (diane35) for the last five years, believing all along that it's regulating my hormones, whereas today I was informed that the anti androgen really isn't doing much to alter my testosterone levels but merely blocking the androgen receptors, which inhibits just the physical side effects. Is this correct? (Feeling a bit dim right now since it's quite late over here

Supposedly I have a very mild case: 1.5nmol testosterone/238nmol SHBG/0.6 free androgen index...(low hormone levels?) cysts on the ovaries and mild acne. The doc told me not to worry, that I dont need the Dianette and that this should fix itself...and that all I'm suffering with what is essentially is teenage acne...I'm 23, although I look about 17...which could make sense. Is this accurate advice?? I'm meant to start Yasmin soon since the estrogen in Dianette gives me crazy migraines and bloating...Again is this accurate advice? Can anyone help? Feeling a bit clueless!
