It's not the TSH that measures how badly ill you are, it's the actual hormone measurements of Free T3 and Free T4. Someone could have a TSH of 100 and be very mildly ill while another person could have a TSH like yours and be very ill.
That being said, the disease progresses every single day. You are not likely going to be on a complete replacement dose, meaning your thyroid is still going to be producing some hormones, meaning it is still going to be under stress. If you have autoimmune hypothyroidism, meaning there are antibodies attacking your thyroid, it will continue to flare up throughout your lifetime. If you discontinue thyroid medication you likely will be sicker than you were in the beginning, because the disease has progressed.
