Well, yesterday marked my one-year anniversary of having a PCOS diagnosis! It got me thinking about what I have changed since that time... I thought I would share it with you all and maybe some others would like to share their stories... Perhaps we could inspire some newbies (or some oldies!!!).
I have gotten down to a normal, even "hot" (haha) weight. I was 184 when DX'd and am now around 135. I was wearing pants in 14 and 16 and now am in a size 6! Wow! It's so amazing when I think of all the years that I was overweight--in one year all that changed! Though I have realllllly restricted my food, I have to say I appreciate sweets more now and take even more pleasure in what I am eating.
I have almost regular cycles! I was beyond happy when AF returned, and with charting, I knew that I was ovulating, as well. I'm still ovulating around CD16-20, but I am so grateful that it has been improving the way it has! I hadn't O'd or had AF in a YEAR before my DX. The Met and diet changes have very much changed my body.
I still have acne. BUT of all the things I'd choose to NOT change--that would be the one. I'd rather my body be pretty much working than have excellent skin.
I still haven't gotten pregnant... But we are hopeful that it will happen soon. This is our third round on Clomid and we're just waiting to see if it works. My ovulations are somewhat regular, as I said, and we are charting and all that. We are doing everything that we can for right now and believe that the rest is in God's hands.
Well, that's about it for me! I am so happy right now, though!!! I love my husband so much I could explode. He has been there for me soooo much this year and I am so thankful for him! It has been great posting here, as well. Having a community to help understand and work through the complexities of such a syndrome is a blessing! Thank you all!!!

My acne is gtetting worse, but the redness is getting better. My hair is no longer super oily and neither is my face for the first time since I can remember. I have lost down to 180 from 230 (recently put back on some, was down to 165 or so). PMS is much easier to handle. My diet is strict, but I don't have the heavy feelings I used to.
That's a really good question. I would be interested in what people say. It hasn't even been a half a year yet for me so far. But I can say that I feel so much more comfortable with myself just by having a clearer understanding of what's going on in my body. My acne has improved somewhat and i'm getting my period every month. (Even though it's not yet the same time every month)
congratulations on the weight loss, what sort of diet do you follow? are you on the IR diet?
Congratulations on the weight loss and taking control of your body!
Though I was diagnosed almost a decade ago, it's only been within the last four or so years that I've actual put effort into caring about PCOS and not just pushing it to the back of my mind.
I'm learning things everyday and while I still have a long way to go, I'm starting to understand my body more. I am now more aware of certain triggers that affect me, my body and my mind. I haven't lost much weight yet, but I feel healthier. I'm working out six days a week and haven't been this active since high school - and I love every second of it.
I'm starting to realize what's "normal" for me and am able to recognize (kind of, anyway!) when something isn't quite "normal." Basically now I'm trying to take control of my PCOS rather than let it take control of me.

Congrats on the weight loss....I too have lost a lot of weight from 220 to 160. Although I started at 130 weight came on super fast...which promted me to get dx'd. What has changed for me hmmmmmmmmmm...Well since we have been ttc since 1998 I think my life revolves around did I or not? Never did I think that doing something so "natural" would consume everything in our life. Since my diagnosis I have truly learned to accept that there are differences in humans and to not judge what I don't understand...and hope that people accept for what I am.( sorry getting preachy). I have also learned not to take things for granted because you don't know how long it will be with you.
Well thats me I probly could have gone on and on but these seem to stick out the most to me
