I've been on met for 6 months now, and it has given me a period every month.. the longest time between periods was 34 days (still within the "normal" lines).
Now it's just not working for me! I just don't understand this. I haven't had AF for 37 days....
Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think I should up my dose?
Thanks!

Do you think maybe you could be pregnant?
Had to ask the first question that pops in our minds when we are having periods then all of sudden not....
What mg of Met are you currently on?
I really don't know why you would stop having AF. Because I never heard of Met just to stop working.
If your aren't pregnant, then I would call your doctor and ask them...
Good luck,

Or maybe your AF is just running late. and will show up. Being you said it has been 34 days, and it has been only 37 days. .....That could be another possibility. It's just running late....I don't know. i wish I could help more.....

Ohh, well after temping on and off, this month I haven't temped at all! I thought the same thing, so this am I took my temp and it was low (96.8) which is what it normally is during the first week of my cycle... So that would mean no prego, right?
The earliest I can get in to see the Dr is Dec 8th, I am on a low dose (500mg), so maybe it just needs to be upped. I haven't heard of met just stop working either. Its weird.
Thanks again Erica!

I would take a HTP and see if you were PG. If not I just think that its just late. Mine bounces around between 35 and 45 days. I just never know.

Well, AF still hasn't arrived and it has been 42 days... I did test and it was BFN.
I have a DR's appointment in the first week of Dec, so I'll have to see what he says. I remember when I told my DR that I had gotten AF with the met, he was so excited-- I assume he'll just up my dose as it's pretty low right now.
I'm getting a little annoyed with this whole thing... I don't think I want to have PCOS any more !!

This did unfortunately happen to me also. I was on 1000mg of met for 6 months with some improvement but still irregular cycles. Then I started altering my diet to incorporate the Insulin Resistance Diet and my cycles became regular at 28 days for 6 months! But unfortunately this last summer my cycles stopped completely again ! My physician suggested maybe weight loss was a factor ( seemed counter-intuitive to me!) and upped the dose to 1500mg. Since then I am back to having irregular cycles but my diet has not been what it should be either - lots of cheats!
Has your diet or exercise changed in the last month?

You know, I don't think it has changed all that much, although I am eating a little more than I was during the first 6 months, and only because everyone was telling me to gain weight!
I agree with you Patty, it doesn't make a lot of sense that losing weight would make met less effective. I have a DRs appt in a week, so I'll see what he has to say.
Thank you, it's interesting that this has happened to someone before....

I just wanted to say good luck with your dr.'s appt.
He might up your dosage. Being 500mg isn't very high. I'm currently on 1700mg, and seem to be regulated so far....
anyways,
good luck,
