I used to have mild to moderate, but very persistant adult acne up until last year (I'm 33).

Here's what cleared me *completely*

BCP
Spironolactone
Tazorac .05% cream

I tried EVERYTHING else before, with moderate success at best. Most treatments would only clear 50-60%. It wasn't until using the above regimine that my skin looked(looks!) flawless.

hths!

Proactive helps mine, I usually only break out around my chin and mouth and they are the super painful, ugly ones. And it has been the one thing that helps. Now my breakouts are smaller.

I take a vitamin B complex and two fish oil capsules daily. I also cut out soda (even diet!) and sugary and white foods. I've been drinking a lot of water and eating high protein. I think my skin looks and feels great. Fish oil is an anti-inflammatory. I've been taking it for about a week now to see if it helps with this cyst I have on my left ovary. I use Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega. It's pricey (like 30 bucks for a container) but it works. Give it a try.

I have found that the Murad Acne Face Wash and Skin Perfecting Lotion work really well for me.

Lately I've been using the new Clinique Acne Clarifying Lotion (I think it's formula #4) and the Acne Lotion with Benzol Peroxide along with my Murad face wash and that seems to be working pretty well.

But then again maybe it's the new BCP!! Who knows? But all of the above mentioned products are nice, so maybe they'd work for you. Good Luck!!

I have been a product junkie for a few years. Tried everything. My face does not respond well to benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Been to a dermatologist and general practitioner. The best product that I have found so far is Natures Cure tablets. They are sold at the drug stores like Harmons. It comes with the benzoyl peroxide cream but you don't have to use it. I started taking the tablets twice a day and after about 2 months my acne started to slow down. I just went through an entire month without one breakout. Also, you can try vitamins like zinc and vitamin c.

I take metformin, and that helps dry up my skin a little. I also use Mary Kay Velocity face wash which seems to be the only thing that works for me. Keeping my hands off and my hair clean/off my skin also helps me.

I notice when I drink a lot of water its very difficult for my skin to look bad. Also lemon juice added to my water(you can buy lemon juice in a bottle). My grandmother is really old fashioned, and she swears by lemon juice rubbed on the face(maybe the acids?)....

Also taking vitamins everyday, esp vitamin C. doing a cleanse once every few months, and eat prunes(this is a good cleanse). ANY strong cleanse will clear the skin.

I use a billion products, I mostly use Murad cleanser, proactiv lotion, and olay products...and a number of other stuff, but those are my main acne ones...
